Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone. - Charles M. Schulz
Ah yes, Charles Schulz, our beloved Peanuts creator making a wonderful quote. As a family we always look forward to seeing all the seasonal shows in the Charlie Brown holiday package, we love Peanuts so much that we based our children's book characters on his loved art work, in our stories "A Dandelion Girl". I also wanted give a perspective inspired by our beloved creator that I wanted to share and comment on.
In th e Easter edition of Charlie Brown "Its the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown", if you can remember the gang saw Christmas decorations being out so soon before the holiday they were appalled and shocked, as they strolled through the department store. Boy, they wouldn't
"Lucy on another rant in department store"
be surprised seeing this years Christmas decorations in Walmart and other stores out before Halloween was over after that but I sure was!
But, what if that was not such a bad thing?
Christmas does have a way of bringing out the best in all of us, and though we may get pushed around by our children and stressed out during the holidays we are mostly at our best. I know that I am a little more patient and appreciative during this wonderful season and the year, so why consolidate that joyous time to a just a few weeks? I'm sure that so many of you traditionally think other wise, but there are a lot of Christmas quotes saying that they wished Christmas was every day of the year, well we may not be getting our wish every day but the number of days are adding up!
So when you look back at our beautiful quote that hearkens the call of being good and maybe going the extra mile, we can think a bit about it. Maybe we can come to the conclusion that if the Christmas holidays are coming sooner, maybe a little bit of good will will be coming soon and more prevalent as well.
And on another note, we can always appreciate that at least our heart warming decorations of blue and gold, and the wondrous lights to choose from are not out at Easter but now have just taking over store shelf time during Halloween. But now I don't think that is a terrible idea i do not want it running into Easter. For Easter has its own celebration and our family believe it is the most important time of the year. I wonder what the retailers plans are now to get the Christmas decoration out and getting Easter in...? There are many decorations to be put out in between Christmas and Easter in that time most notable Valentine Day. I know valentine will be out shortly after Christmas and New Years, but I do not see Easter Taking to much time from our Hallmark Holiday, but I can see it gaining a little hard ground. I will certainly take a closer look at the situation thins year!
